City Sign MOU with Supporters Club & Trust

Bristol City have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bristol City Supporters Club & Trust as part of its commitment to keep fans informed and engaged.

The MOU includes both Bristol City and Bristol City Women and confirms the commitment of both parties to relations going forward.

Key commitments include holding two fans forums a year – the first being on Monday, October 11th 2021; discussing with the Trust any significant decisions e.g any permanent ground move or change of ownership; and support from the Trust for the promotion of City Women.

Bristol City CEO Richard Gould said: “We are lucky to have a large and very supportive fanbase and I want to make sure we can keep our supporters engaged and involved as the club continues to grow and make progress.”

Richard Gould and Stu Rogers of the Supporters Club & Trust shake hands on the MOU – Rogan Thomson/JMP – 11/09/2021 – Ashton Gate Stadium – Bristol, England – Bristol City v Preston Noth End – Sky Bet Championship.

Supporters Club & Trust Chair Stu Rogers said “Signing an MOU is a really great step forward and builds on the recent good progress and positivity. It’s a formal agreement between the supporters and the football club that sets out a framework for continued structured dialogue and transparency. We’d like to thank everyone involved for making this possible, including the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA) for their valuable input.”

Speaking on the FSA website, Deborah Dilworth; network manager (EFL & women’s game development); said that Bristol City were the 12th club to sign an MOU with their supporters’ trust and the first to distinctly include their women’s team in its scope.
“This is a brilliant step forward not only for the trust, who recently appointed two women’s game reps to their board in Shahan Miah and D-M Withers, but also for the club in recognising that supporters of the women’s game are as important and valued…I hope this is the first of many MOUs in relation to the women’s game.”

We’d like to thank Bristol City & Bristol City Women, the FSA, and all involved from all organisations in making this a possibility.

We’d also like to acknowledge the contribution of Lee Billiard; former Head of Women’s Football at Bristol City Women; in helping with the conception & development of the MOU, alongside Deborah Dilworth at the FSA.
