Corinne Yorston To Be Inducted Into Hall of Fame This Weekend

The Supporters Club & Trust are pleased to announce that Corinne Yorston will be inducted into the Hall of Fame this weekend.

Alongside Loren Dykes MBE (who will be inducted at a later date), Corinne was one of the first inductees to be announced way back in April 2022. However, what makes these inductions special is that they will be the first Bristol City Women players to become members of our Hall of Fame.

Corinne played for the club across three spells (2005-09, 2010-14, 2016-18) – when it was known as Bristol Academy WFC as well as Bristol City WFC, even becoming club captain. Corinne also had spells at Arsenal, Yeovil Town & more recently at Keynsham Town.

Corinne was part of the teams which reached two FA Cup Finals in 2011 and 2013, narrowly missing out on the FA WSL title in 2013. In the 2011/12 and 2013/14 seasons she played in the UEFA Champions League – memorably beating Barcelona at Ashton Gate to reach the quarter-finals in 2014. This was the first time that the club reached this stage of the competition, and the squad included now-legendary players such as Loren Dyres, Mary Earps, Sophie Ingle, Grace McCatty, Angharad James, Natasha Harding & Jasmine Matthews. She also achieved six England senior caps during her career, and was one of the first players to be offered central contracts by the FA back in 2009.

Off the pitch, Corinne worked at the FA in various roles, including as a physical performance coach, physical performance lead, and as a player insights lead. Most of these roles were with the Talent Pathway. Corinne currently works at Maggie’s Centres – a charity providing free cancer support & information in centres across the UK and online.

The presentation will take place pitch side this Saturday during half-time at the Bristol City game against Reading. Corinne will accept the award from Supporters Club & Trust President Marina Dolman. We encourage fans to stay at half time to give a big round of applause! She & her guests will earlier have enjoyed hospitality and a presentation courtesy of the Supporters Club & Trust in the Heineken Lounge.

Corinne will also be in attendance at the Bristol City Women game against Sheffield United this Sunday at the Robins High Performance Centre.

The remaining inductees from the 1940s/50s & 1980s/1990s decades will be announced in due course. They will join Corinne Yorston, Chris Garland, Gary Johnson & the previously announced Loren Dykes MBE to be the inductees of this class of the Hall of Fame.
