Over 1,000 City fans took the time to complete the recent Supporters’ Club & Trust online poll and in doing so provided some very interesting results, which are well worth a look. Here are the headlines:
Petitioning
Bristol City Supporters Trust’s 30,000-strong petition for a new football stadium was hand delivered to the Bristol Council House in June 2011 to help demonstrate the level of support for the new stadium.
Board representation
One of the main aims of many Supporters Trusts and one that is stated in our manifesto is “To continue to encourage wider supporter involvement in the Club from Boardroom down, including an elected supporter’s representative with voting powers on the Board of Bristol City Football Club”.
Player and Supporter of the Year awards
The Supporters Club & Trust runs both awards.
At the end of each season supporters are asked to nominate their supporter of the year and the players choose a winner, usually from a short list.
