The Supporters Club & Trust can announce that D-M Withers has stepped down from the board due to work commitments
Joining alongside fellow board member Shahan Miah in January 2021, D-M became one of the City Women Fan Representatives; ensuring that the SC&T had regular contact with officials from the women’s side of the Football Club.
Over the years, they & Shahan campaigned & lobbied for various activities now seen regularly in the men’s game. These include (but not limited to): away coach travel for City Women supporters, launching Women’s awards in our annual long-running End of Season Awards, recognising former City Women players in our Hall of Fame for the first time, and getting the women’s team to commit to Fans Forums.
Speaking to the board, D-M said “It’s been a pleasure working with you over the past few years. I’ve learnt loads and really admire our capacity to get things done, discuss issues and come to pro-active – and impactful – interventions”
For now, Shahan will be carrying out all City Women-related duties in the SC&T. And following the passing of Mike Adams earlier in the year, there are now two vacancies available on the SC&T board. More information on board member recruitment will be made available soon.
