Bristol City is pleased to announce details of the new Fan Advisory Board (FAB), which will represent significantly greater fan engagement and wider representation for supporters.
The FAB will provide a new forum for elected members from different sections of the fanbase, inclusive and reflective of our diversity, ensuring fans are consulted, kept informed and their views considered during club decision-making.
The club has been working collaboratively with the Supporters Club & Trust as part of fan engagement to agree on a code of conduct and constitution and this will enable the group to be independent.
Supporters Club & Trust Chair Stu Rogers said: “The Supporters Club & Trust welcomes all forms of meaningful and inclusive fan engagement. The Fan Advisory Board will put a wider group of fans, both individuals and existing supporter groups, in front of key decision makers at their football club. We have inputted into the agreement and code of conduct to help make it the best it can possibly be and a good example of fan engagement.”
FAB meetings will be held at least once every two months but may be held at any time with the agreement of all supporter representatives.
Applications are now open HERE and here is all the key information:
- The election process consists of four stages: application, shortlisting, interview and election.
- Supporter representatives are required to attend a minimum of 75 per cent of FAB meetings annually, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
- A maximum of five members of the FAB will be representatives nominated by the following supporter groups: Bristol City Supporters Club and Trust, Senior Reds, Section 82, Robyns Round, Bristol City Robins Foundation.
- Following a closed vote within the board, the Supporters Club & Trust representative in these meetings will be Jon Darch, with James Nicholls deputising as required
- A maximum of six members of the FAB will be representatives elected through an open application process and shall each represent the interests of a different section of the club’s fanbase.
Bristol City Head of Strategic Operations Michelle Dring said: “As part of our fan engagement plan, we committed to launching a Fan Advisory Board and we are pleased to now open applications. This marks an important step forward in strengthening our engagement and broadening representation across our supporter base.”
