An update on access to our Supporters Bar on a matchday…
As you are probably aware, the SC&T has its own bar on the mezzanine level of the Independence Sports Bar at Ashton Gate; mainly open on matchdays for the men’s team. It’s a very popular pre-match meeting point, to which all Gold and Diamond members have access to.
Like all function rooms, it does, of course, have a safe capacity limit. In order to help us adhere to this important safety requirement, we do ask you to show proof of membership before entering the bar.
To cater for members wishing on occasion to bring a guest into the bar, we will for this coming season be trialling the use of ‘guest passes’. These will be available for members to buy for their guest at the entrance to the bar (£3 each, card/contactless payment only). I hope you will, however, understand that in order to keep to our capacity limit, the number of such passes will be strictly limited and everyone else wishing to enter the bar will need to show their membership ID either to any of our board members that volunteer on a matchday (Jon Watts, Trina Watts or Marie “Dolls” Day) at the bar entrance or to the Ashton Gate steward also positioned there.
If you are not a member yet or your membership has lapsed, you can join or rejoin the SC&T here.
Talking of the Supporters Bar, we have recently put up a digital photo frame, which will show a changing sequence of photos of memorable moments from the past, and – in their memory – of members and other supporters who are no longer with us. If you would like to add a relevant photo to the sequence, please just get in touch by e-mailing us at info@bristolcitysupporters.org
For women’s games at Ashton Gate, the supporters bar is currently not open on a matchday.
