Minutes of the monthly meeting held on Wednesday 6th May 2015
Bristol City Supporters Club & Trust
Wednesday 6th May 2015, 7.30pm, The Rising Sun
Minutes – draft
Present Board – Stuart Rogers (chair), Miles Hendy, Mike Adams (minutes), Jon Darch, Marie Day, Terry Hamlin, James Nicholls
Members – John Croker, Sean Takle Bristol Sport – Peter Smith Guest – Tom Murphy

- Atyeo Statue Maquette & siting
Tom unveiled his maquette made of fibreglass and filled with expanded polystyrene. It has a bronze-coloured finish highlighted in black and includes a base. Those present including Pete Smith thought it is a very good likeness and fulfils the terms of our commission in relation to the image we had provided. It would be left in Bristol and could be used for publicity purposes. Tom would provide a bust at a future meeting detailing the face, ears, lips and forehead in particular. We will endeavour to contact the Atyeo family to be present.
Those present including Pete Smith thought the maquette plinth was in good proportion. It scales up to 3’3” in reality but a definite decision cannot be made until the siting is confirmed. It could be a steel cage construction with internal steel to support the statue, which is expected to weigh one third of a tonne. The materials to cover the plinth could match those used for the stadium itself. A red capping stone was considered [action Mike].
Photos would be put on Photo Cart and a link sent to all members [action Jon, Miles].
- End of Season awards – debrief
The presentations took place probably as well as could be expected in the circumstances.
- Shares for Atyeo Statue donation
There are problems with the mechanism for the issue of shares to BCSCT, which Stuart [action] will follow up. Trina and Jon would be asked to use the normal routes for payment next season, preferably not involving cash and encouraging standing orders. Jon [action] will try to provide a PayPal card reader.
All members would have the same cards as used by the Supporters Bar members up to now.
Those wishing to use the Bar would need to supply a photo in the usual way.
- Supporters Bar next season
We are due to be accommodated in the mezzanine above the Sports Bar for next season. We are promised a sight of the position asap.
- Atyeo fans access to concourse from next season
This matter is ongoing with Bristol Sport [action Stu].
- Programme Club sales
Because of the load placed on the treasurer since the Club’s existence, it was decided that from next season, the Programme Club would be run by Mike Adams using his own bank account, whilst BCSCT would provide its continuing support.
The 2012 accounts were about to be signed off and published. The following motion was proposed by Miles, seconded by Mike and passed unanimously:
‘In order to expedite the completion of outstanding accounts with the aim of doing so for 31st October this year and as allowed in law, the accounts for 2013, 2014 & 2015 would be checked by a competent person rather than go through the exhaustive auditing process used hitherto.’
Miles [action] would check the exact legal requirement with Supporters Direct.
- County Gates Parking
There was an opportunity to share in a parking scheme. After discussion it was decided that this was outside our remit.
- Unfinished business
This was held over to the next meeting on Wednesday 3rd June at 7.30pm
